Getting real up close and personal with a snapping turtle. Please don't try this at home! Take note of the jagged edge around the back end the shell. Also look at the knobby, almost prehistoric appearance of the tail. These are characteristic of the snapping turtle. The neck reach as far as the tail, so this one is pictured in a rather aggressive pose and ready to strike. Give them plenty of room, they are suprisingly fast.
